The Patrol Division, which is comprised of one sergeant and six patrol officers, provides 24 hour patrol protection to the campus streets, parking lots, residence halls and other properties owned or operated by the university. They accomplish this through vehicle, bike, and foot patrols. Patrols are conducted by uniformed and plain clothed officers in both marked and unmarked police units. In addition to the Ogden Campus, regular patrols are also conducted at the Davis Campus where a police sub-station is located.
The Patrol Division is the core of the police department and most likely the first contact with the community. They are responsible for a full range of public safety services, including all crime reports, investigations, medical emergencies, traffic accidents and traffic enforcement. The Weber State Police Department has a no-tolerance policy for underage drinking and any illegal drug use. The Patrol Division strictly enforces all laws related to these crimes and works hand in hand with Housing and Student Affairs to combat these offenses. As a courtesy and to promote cooperation in combating crime, the Patrol Division regularly assists and shares information with community police agencies off campus. Members of the Patrol Division are well trained officers, who, in connection with their training, receive specialized assignments. The Patrol Division has members assigned to the Weber-Metro Homicide Task Force, the Weber-Metro Gang Unit, the Bike Patrol Unit, as well as technical assignments both in and outside the police department. The officers of the Patrol Division strive to provide effective, professional police services to the campus and surrounding community. They are dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment, conducive to the educational goals of those they serve.

Did You Know?
We want to remind all drivers on and around Weber State University to be aware of the marked crosswalks. With the large amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, it is important that both drivers and pedestrians take an active roll in looking out for each other. Failure to yeild to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk will result in a citation. (UCA 41-6a-1002)Campus Watch
